COMMUNITY POLICING

The Uniformed Patrol Division consists of four shifts.  These work units are known as patrol watch A, B, C, and D.  A Lieutenant is the Watch Commander and a Sergeant is the working field supervisor.  A number of police officers are assigned to each watch.

We have police officers on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Officers are assigned to protect the campus in cars, on bicycles, and on foot at various times.

"What's new?"

We are happy to announce, the Police Department recently purchased 10 new Defibrillator's to place in several Patrol Vehicles.  All of our Officer's are certified through in-service training on CPR/First-Aid and AED.

"Spring Fest"

This is an alcohol awareness project in conjunction with the Student Health Center and the University Housing Department.  Officers and staff are on hand to speak about alcohol-related issues.  In the past years activities have included wearing the "Fatal Vision" impairment goggles and submitting to examples of Standardized Field Sobriety Testing.

For more information, contact the Student Health Center.
