R.A.D.

The Rape Aggression Defense System is a program of realistic, self- defense tactics and techniques. The RAD System is a comprehensive course for women that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, while progressing on to basics of hands- on self defense training. RAD is not a Martial Arts program. The RAD Program is currently being taught at many Colleges and Universities. The Rape Aggression Defense Program is dedicated to teaching women defensive concepts and techniques against various types of assault, by utilizing easy, effective and proven self- defense tactics.

Rape Aggression Defense Class (RAD)

The UNC Charlotte Police Department will be hosting two RAD Classes in the Police and Public Safety Building located on Cameron Blvd. just across from the new Student Health Center.   The first class is February 23-25 from 5-9pm. This is a three day class and you must attend each day.  The fee for the class is $10.00 and it must be paid by February 13th, 2009.

The next class will be held on March 18-20.  The registration fee must be paid by March 11th, 2009.  These fees are non refundable unless there is a valid reason (family emergency, verified illness, etc) which would prevent you from attending. 

Students who reside on campus can attend this class for FREE!  Your fee has been paid by Housing and Residence Life.  Resident Students who register for the class and fail to attend without a valid reason will be required to pay the $10.00 fee if they register for another class. 

To register, complete the attached form and send it to Officer Jerry Lecomte at the UNC Charlotte Police Department via Campus Mail.
